Welcome! I am Austin Mendoza, a computational neuroscientist interested in sensory information processing and attention. I recently completed my Ph.D. working in the Haas Lab at Lehigh University. My thesis was on investigating electrically coupled networks of thalamic reticular nucleus (TRN) neurons, and how they might influence sensory attention and information flow from the thalamus to cortex. I utilize the Julia programming language to simulate realistic neuron and synaptically connected networks, and can be accessed from our github repo. More info about my research interests and computational models can be found in the research section.
My research papers can be found listed in the publications section. My research has also been featured in Lehigh University news articles in the publicity section. I have presented at Society for Neuroscience and Organization for Computational Neurosciences conferences, listed in the talks section. A copy of my CV can be downloaded from the CV section.
